Snacks for school

Woah, was I in for a crazy surprise when our son began kindergarten half-days...I never knew that parents volunteered, or that you could provide snacks for the whole class. The ideas are almost endless, but when I need to think of one at the store...grr...my mind wanders and would get lost. I realized, a list of ideas would help! Now their little faces light up when they see me bring snacks in, because they know it will be something cool. That feeling is PRICELESS! The idea is to feel confident and deliver the snacks with panache.  Soooooo, I made a list...maybe you can use it, maybe not, anyhow...here it is...

Chia Pudding is the best

Okay...so when did the chia pet become the "thing" to do with chia seeds? People are seriously nuts! Maybe I was just the last to discover the versatility of this seed, which is probably the case, either way, I am overjoyed with the deliciousness this easy pudding brings!
The freestyle recipe is as follows:

soak a cup of raw almonds in your blender in a few cups of water

Vegan grape upside down cake recipe. vegan zucchini upside down cake recipe

Have you EVER? I'd never heard of it either! Grape upside down cake...turns out, it's delicious...a real keeper...

My recipes are, as always, freestyle. This is a nice way of saying, use what you have...if you have no sugar, use honey...if you have no coconut oil, use olive oil...if you have no wheat flour, grind up some oats...quit messing around and put it in the bowl.....make it go!

Cooking off the moisture in the grapes until they just begin to spew their insides out...medium heat...with coconut

My best friend and I also made dill pickles! So delicious and easy to make! I think we'll do this every year from now on! These would make great gifts and an even better snack!

I don't think we'll have to buy pickles for at least two years! It was

feeling better on candida diet

I spoke to a naturopathic doctor the other day and she said I was doing everything right as far as curing my yeast infection naturally. Right now the infection is at bay. I am not in pain and feel little to no discomfort, which is quite a change from the excruciating pain suffered by me two weeks ago! I accomplished this with

All natural cleaning product

Vinegar. It's an acid...I use it to clean
our counters and to clean our veggies and fruit. It is a great deodorizer and makes windows sparkling clean!

Most of the time I dilute it; (3 parts water to 1 part vinegar.) It works on literally everything! Vinegar has

healthy meat; is there such a thing anymore?

Here we are, talking about food again!
I am interested in the prospect of healthy meat and if it can be bought in a store...Around here, we catch

is coffee healthy?

My crutch...coffee. I have been drinking ALOT of it lately...and oddly, I am much more drained of energy.
I am thinking this through people...so coffee is a diuretic and a stimulant...some call it a drug, but I wouldn't go that far...come on people, it's all I have! is this "drug" stripping my body of the nutrients that it needs? Does it make me eat more because of this? I am really feeling like coffee is holding me

how to say no to a tamale.

Okay so I made it through breakfast without eating cooked food other than coffee...but tamale was the lunch special and when it comes to refusing a tamale...I've got nothing.  And how to make a raw tamale??? you got me there too.  i guess what I'm trying to say is: the masterpieces of cooked cuisine  cannot be substituted...this is my opinion at THIS point in my life, but I am open to suggestions...now, my two new years resolutions involve shotgunning a tallboy and developing a recipe for a raw tamale...I know, I know, I shoot for the sky!  My aspirations are mindboggeling even to myself!  later, Eva

Vegan muffins are delicious... Seriously, I had my doubts...I found a recipe on line and used honey instead of sugar, wheat flour-flax seeds and wheat germ instead of white flour and more nuts raisins and bananna than they ask for, (as always, I freestyle,) and they were FABULOUS.  I'll post my favorite recipe someday...but now I am going to pack!

Okay, so you like green smoothies, and you can buy a 80 dollar  blender and explode it in a week!  (And they do not break your food down on the cellular level, or make it smooth liquid.)  Sooooo...That's where I was!  I balked at the cost of a Vitamix, (the cheapest one I could find was costco, $380,) but I quickly crunched the numbers, justifying it easily...so now I pass them on to you:
