vitamix justification

Okay, so you like green smoothies, and you can buy a 80 dollar  blender and explode it in a week!  (And they do not break your food down on the cellular level, or make it smooth liquid.)  Sooooo...That's where I was!  I balked at the cost of a Vitamix, (the cheapest one I could find was costco, $380,) but I quickly crunched the numbers, justifying it easily...so now I pass them on to you:
if you are buying just one coffee a week at $4 dollars it's over $200 a year...
If you go out to breakfast 10 times a year that's $100, per person in your family...
if you go out to lunch 10 times a year it's easily in the $200 range per person a year
and dinner is at least $200... easy....not counting picking up the bill...
So we're already up to $700 PER ADULT!  I decided to keep lunches...their menus are raw friendliest, and breakfast food is sheer death!
Did I mention these blenders have a 7 year warranty?  I use it for making almond milk, salsa, hummus, chocolate sauce, delicious dips, salad dressings and more.  I have not once regretted buying this blender.  If I have convinced you to buy one please leave a comment!  There is an Amazon link on my page too...free shipping.  Used vitamix are not easy to find, not much cheaper, and you lose the warranty.
So there you go...my greatest wish for you is that green smoothies will have a huge effect on you and your family's health...P.s. the mole on my face is almost gone....i've had it since i was a child...green smoothies baby!

  2. That can't be factoring in the cost of produce though, can it. If your factoring the cost of food going out to eat wouldn't it only be fair to factor in the cost of food that you would need with your blender? In the end I'm sure your paying a lot more for the smoothies. Although I am sure they are good.

  3. Haha! Excellent point! It was simply justifying the cost of the blender... Of course I didn't factor in the cost of produce, as the cost produce varies tremendously due to geographical differences, particular ingredients, family size, and appetite...what I can tell you is a 40 ounce green smoothie in Kodiak Alaska made with mango, banana, and italian parsley costs around $5 and feeds 2 people. A lot of the greens we use come from the garden, but I cannot even begin to factor cost in on that one! I know, I know, expensive right, but nutritionally superior by a long shot to banana pancakes and costs about the same! Factoring in time could be a big one too...It takes me 2 minutes to have a smoothie in a glass...and cleanup is refreshingly simple...rinse! Pancakes is at LEAST a half an hour ordeal...without cleanup. And that consists of; spatula, skillet, forks, plates, measuring stuff, spoon, flour dust, egg shells, syrup, cups, stove, and mixing bowl. and table. The mental cost of that picture is enough for me, I am savoring my smoothie tomorrow!!! Plus smoothies are the cheapest health insurance I have found yet and I feel great..and I save tons of time shopping too...produce section...that's it! Thanks for your comment...Made me think!
