labels

Why don't grocery stores have nutritional labels for produce?  When buying spinach or romaine or
cilantro or apples, I sometimes wonder what key nutrients are in them.  If you eat a wide variety, it shouldn't matter, just saying...It would be interesting to see outright the differences between organic and non-organic produce and what was naturally found in them.

I suppose scientific control is the key to making it nearly impossible to do this...soil and water quality...air, soil, and water pollution...sunlight exposure...compost composition...never ending variables!
There is so much to learn out there...like fruit and veg coming from other countries,  with an organic label...UHHH...is this just us just hoping, dreaming?  What are the "Organic" regulations?  Do they even check?  What "organic"matter is allowed for soil, and what kinds of things are allowed in the water?  Considering the chemical additives allowed in food by the government...I remain sceptical...about most things!
Our garden is beautiful, and productive...nourishing, but even that has me thinking about the massive amounts of compost that I made with the fruits and veg I bought from the store...the constant summertime stream of floatplanes that leave their exhaust trail over our garden, city water, and neighbors outside spraying weed killer all over their lawns...Ohhh to be too analytical is painful!  Are these things any of you have pondered?
