so here's the truth

I should be working on my english paper. My paper is about, wait for it, plants/food and genetic
modification. It's supposed to be an argumentative essay, but it's turned out to be a bashing of GE foods. Now it's about going back in and adding information supporting the "good" associated with genetically altered food. At first I didn't think that there was anything good about it, but am noticing some things that I was blinded to on my previous learning hysteria. My first round of research was a severe frenzy, powered by disbelief and fear...my cranial piranhas were berserk for the bad part! I am slowly recognizing the importance of this technology...regardless, a lot of things need to change....A LOT. Modification has been used for thousands of years, but science takes it to a level that nature cannot support. Genetic modification can be two things: help with natural selection/using nature to propagate nature, or using chemical/genetics to modify nature in an unnatural way. I abhor the use of toxic anything…modification does not need to be toxic to the ones who grow, pollenate, or eat it…and the damage to ground water is another story…possibly irreversible. Isn't it a wake up call that America is locked on it's food island? We subsidize toxic monsanto crops!!! The world is shutting us out of the international food market. Americans are the test subjects for genetically modified foods…foods covered with chemicals, antibiotics, infused with pesticides.
If you don't know about this subject, do something about it!  Rent the documentary "The Future of Food..." It'll give you the incentive to learn more, but don't stop there. Make sure you spread the information, research, network, and develop your own ideas about it!
