Homemade Vegitarian Lentil Burger Recipe

I'll be making these again and freezing them to use in the george foreman later... I'd throw them in frozen...It's sooooo easy.

Who says that vegitarian burgers are boring!!! These were super delicious!!!
I made lentils yesterday, so in all fairness you should make the lentils a day ahead, or just plan on making
bean burgers out of your leftovers.  I'd make these burgers out of any beans, garbanzo, pinto, white, pink, black, whatever! I used brown lentils for this recipe...(water, lentils, salt, lots of garlic, oregano, basil, and a bay leaf.) If i happened to have any leftover brown rice, I'd have thrown that in too.
so in a bowl, i mixed the leftover beans...crumbled up dried bread crumbs...spices...then i let it sit for a while...then add a couple handfuls of the non-quick oats...let sit...(my lentils were pretty juicy.) Then I formed them into patties and patted them into a pile of panko and then FRIED them. I don't get to write that word too often. FRIED...it's a great word.  I ate them crumbled up in lettuce leaves with sliced pickles, mustard, and ketchup...Our son ate 3 whole burgers on toasted bread with the same toppings...3 whole burgers...I'd say they were a hit! They may even be labeled vegan, but I wasn't sure if the organic como bread i had in my crumb pile had any dairy in it.
4 cups lentils
1 cup various breadcrumbs and a couple of handfuls of rolled oats
garlic powder, onion powder, dehydrated red peppers (non spicy kind), black pepper, salt, and some italian spice grinder mix I had hanging in the cupboard...
Panko
And Olive oil for frying. I used all organic ingredients. finally found some panko to feel good about!
