I want more information

I'm really interested in learning new things about food...
all aspects of it! If there is something that any of you have come across that is not common knowledge, would you be so gracious to share???
I'd love some book suggestions...right now I am engulfed in
Genetically Modified foods/organisms/engineering and the like, but I'd love some input! Even just a tiny tidbit!
 Like these: raw organic almonds are still treated with noxious gasses; soy is extremely mucous forming; you have to change the kinds of  greens you eat or smoothify every 3 days; and goat cheese isn't ever treated with rBGH but still may have GMO's (check the label for vegetable rennet, or rennet at all and chances are if it does have rennet...it's GM.)
I hope you all have some suggestions! Like dried cranberries sweetened with apple juice, and i'm still hoping for the raw tamale!
